Umpiring
All umpires in the Loughborough Town Netball League must hold a current C award (or above) umpiring qualification. Each umpire will be allocated an LTNL umpiring number.
Any team failing to fulfil their umpiring duties or using an unqualified umpire (without prior agreement and those matches designated as unqualified slots) will lose all points for their game (minimum 4 points deducted) and will incur a £30 umpiring fee, to be paid to the 'stand in' umpire.
The LTNL run an Umpiring What’s App group where LTNL umpiring updates and umpiring requests are made, all umpires are encouraged to join. Please contact the Umpiring Secretary if you wish to be added to this group.
Getting Qualified
Umpiring courses are run by East Midlands Netball and are publicised on their website - please visit this site for more information: East Midlands Netball Umpiring Courses and to register on a course visit: England Netball Course Finder
England Netball INTO Officiating Award
Once you have attended an INTO Officiating Award virtual course and passed your practical assessment, please contact the LTNL Umpire Secretary. You will be able to umpire an unqualified LTNL ‘Into Officiating Umpire slot’ as long as you have a mentor present. Please see guide below.
Scorers
Scorers will be required for all division matches. Each team will need to provide a scorer for their own games, more information can be found in the document links below ‘Handbook Appendix C – Scorers’ and ‘How to score a Netball game’.
Mentors
In order to mentor new umpires, they must be fully versed in the requirements and criteria for the current 'C award' test, or any support given could be potentially damaging for the learner. For those people wishing to mentor and support, please enrol on to an umpires support workshop to bring your knowledge up to date.
If you would like more information on any umpiring related topic, please contact the Umpiring Secretary
