Young Persons Guidelines
All players must be registered with England Netball to be eligible to play, umpire or officiate in any LTNL match. The minimum age to play in the LTNL adult league is 16 years old. Age Banded players can take part in the League providing they are aged 14 or 15.
A parental consent form must be signed by a parent or guardian before a junior player (under 18) is eligible to play.
In addition, the Application for Young Person to Play in Adult League form must be completed for junior players aged 14-15. The Registration Secretary must have notification that this has been signed-off, before being eligible to play in their assessed Team/Division. Failure to do this will incur a four point deduction as per clause 15 of the LTNL Handbook.

In addition, the Application for Young Person to Play in Adult League form must be completed for junior players aged 14-15. Please follow the guidelines below:
- Age Banded players can take part in the League providing they are aged 14 or 15. A Young Person Application form or player registration will NOT be accepted if under 14.
- A player age 14 or 15 is NOT eligible to play in the LTNL until the Club and League receives the confirmation email from the LCNA Vice Chair.
- Age 14 or 15 year olds are only permitted to play in the Division assessed for (or division below). They are unable to play up for a team playing in a higher Division (this included the Cup/Plate Competition). i.e no lives up a division and no re-registration up (unless a new form is completed and they are re-assessed).
- Players at age 14 years are not eligible to play in the LTNL Premier Division. They are eligible to play in Divisions 1,2,3 dependent on the Division they are assessed for. Age 15 years can only play in the Premier Division if assessed to play in that Division.
- For Cup/Plate matches - age 14 or 15 year olds are only permitted to play for a team registered in the Division assessed for (or division below).
- There is a maximum limit of 3 x aged 14 and/or age 15 players on court at any one time*.
- Any team playing an age 14 player - the Captain should be minimum age 18 and participate in the game (minimum of 1 x quarter played).
- Any team playing age 15 and over - the captain MUST be age 16 or over. In addition, there must be a Safeguarding person/Manager on the bench who is the responsible adult (age 18 or over) who makes themselves known to the Umpires.
These guidelines are not just about our League, they are supporting the advice and guidelines from Leicestershire County Netball. The LTNL is an adult league and we are here to not just protect the Young Person, but to protect the playing adults participating in our sport.
